Founded in Norwich in 2001, Bet365 is now one of the UK’s most recognizable online gambling brands. Encompassing a sportsbook, casino, bingo, and poker room, Bet365 is the full online betting package. However, their game selection in the casino is lacking, and their banking system can be quite slow for some payment methods.

License and legal status

Bet365 is licensed by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) – license number 39584, allowing them to offer betting services to UK customers as well as players from across the European continent and further afield. The UKGC is one of Europe’s top regulatory authorities in the gambling arena that regularly conducts official audits and investigations. Should you have a dispute or complaint when dealing with Bet365, the UKGC is on-hand with official recourse, guidance, and advice.

Bet365 Casino Review

The casino game selection at Bet365 is mostly provided by Estonian developer PlayTech. Overall, it is a below-average collection in size. Comprising just under 200 titles, it can hardly be called minuscule – but it is on the lower end of the online casino scale considering that many UK-facing online casinos offer several hundred or more slots titles alone. The 199 bet365 casino games include:

  • 122 slots
  • Seven roulette tables
  • Six blackjack tables
  • Eight video poker tables

The remaining games are made up of live casino titles. Although the range is relatively small, PlayTech is a reliable and well-known developer. This means the slots collection includes a fair number (around 40) of progressive jackpot titles as well as licensed pop culture-themed slots such as Monopoly: Mega Movers, Batman Begins, and Deal or No Deal: What’s In Your Scratch-Card?

For players focused on maximizing potential returns, the game of choice should be Playtech’s Blackjack Surrender, which offers a 99.6% Return-to-Player (RTP). This variant on the casino-classic 21-based card game allows you to “surrender” your hand in return for half your stake back if you don’t like the odds of winning. Closely following this on Bet365’s RTP stakes is four-line Aces & Faces Video Poker at 99.26%.

Bet365 Live casino games

Bet365’s live casino packs in 55 tables across seven different casino games, including:

  • Blackjack
  • Poker
  • Roulette
  • Sic-Bo
  • Baccarat
  • Hi-Lo

All these titles are developed by Playtech. The collection thus includes Playtech’s Spinning Wheel of Fortune-type game – Spin a Win. Although not the biggest live casino selection you’ll find, 55 tables is no slouch either. Bet365 has also jumped on the emerging private table technology with gusto.

Private tables allow individual casinos to create custom branded studio rooms for live casino streamed games. These can also come with exclusive offers as well as provide complete control over the look and feel of the tables, creating an experience unique to each casino. Bet365 has opted to collaborate with Playtech and invest in nine of these custom tables for blackjack and roulette.

Welcome promotions

Bet365 offers a 100% deposit match up to €50 for new casino customers. This money comes with a 30x wagering requirement as well as a 60-day limit for completing your playthrough. Bets on all blackjack and roulette games as well as some video poker titles do not count towards this requirement. The minimum deposit amount needed to trigger the offer is €10.

VIP program

Bet365’s casino loyalty program is tied up with their cashback loyalty points system. On the basic level, you earn comp points by spending cash on real-money games. All slots, Caribbean poker, and Keno earn you three points for every €10 spent. Every other casino game nets you one point for every €10 wagered. Only two games are excluded – Blackjack Surrender and Blackjack Switch.

Every 100 points can be converted into one unit of currency. A blackjack player, for example, would receive €1 back for every €1,000 spent, giving a base cashback rate of 0.001%. This base rate can be improved through the second mechanic of Bet365’s VIP program – a three-tiered system. You can progress up a tier by collecting the requisite number of comp points as follows:

  • Bronze: 50,000 points
  • Silver: 150,000
  • Gold: 500,000

Each tier rewards you with a cash prize of €50, €100, and €1000 respectively. This bonus money comes with a 20x wagering requirement. Progressing to a higher tier also grants you a better cash-back rate of 85 for your comp points and 75 points per unit of currency.
You need to attain at least 2,500 points in a month to maintain your status; otherwise, you drop down a tier each month.

Bet365 Sportsbook Review

Markets and odds

Bet365’s sportsbook features an impressive collection of markets, offering 45 different sports for betting, plus a specials market. All the popular European and UK sports (soccer, tennis, rugby, cricket, golf, etc.) are included, as well as a good range of more niche sports, such as water polo, cross-country skiing, handball, and futsal.

Bet365’s markets for the most prominent sports are especially diverse. Let’s take soccer to illustrate this. You can bet on anything from the big boys of the Premier League and Champions League all the way down to minnows such as the Australian South U20s league or the Zimbabwean Premier League. Add to that the in-play and real-time markets for each game being played, and you can see there is a dizzying amount of choice in the Bet365 sportsbook.

Also available are specials bets, although they don’t come with as many markets as you can find at some other casinos. Special bets include politics, TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, and even the next Chess world champion.

You can choose to view all your odds in fractional, decimal, or American style. Bet365 also offers a best odds guarantee for all horse races broadcast by ITV. If you see lower odds somewhere else on one of those races, contact customer support, and they should sort you out with a better price.

Welcome promotion

Bet365 sportsbook offers a 100% deposit match bonus up to €100 in the form of €10 free cash bets. Simply wager your deposit amount once in qualifying bets, and once those bets are settled, you will receive the equivalent amount in free bets.

All money won from free bets counts as withdrawable cash, but you do not receive the stake back. You have 30 days to wager all your free bets before they become void.

This promotion is also not available to depositors using Neteller, Skrill, or 1-tap.

VIP program

Bet365 does not offer a VIP program or rewards scheme for sports betting customers.

Bet365 Poker Room Review

Bet365 is on the iPoker network, which is the third largest poker network (by peak-time player counts) available to UK players. Other iPoker network sites include William Hill Poker, Paddy Power Poker, and Betfred Poker. Expect 3000+ players during peak times on weekends and around 1,000 during off-hours on weekdays.

The software itself is not in any way fancy, but it runs perfectly smoothly. Some useful features include the ability to play multiple tables on one screen as well as the Bet365 Poker School. This unique educational tool is beneficial to new and learning players, with lessons that can improve one’s game even if they already understand poker’s core strategy. The Poker School features three tiers – beginner, intermediate, and advanced – which means that even old-hand poker players might learn something from the top-level advice.

Lastly, Bet365 Poker offers exclusive new-player rooms where only new iPoker network customers can play for their first 90 days. If you’re a shark from a different network, this could be the place for you as it mostly contains little fish.

We must point out one shortcoming, however. Playing mobile poker in your browser is extremely slow to load and very glitchy. We tried this on several devices, and it was the same on each one. If you’re truly interested in playing Bet365 Poker, we suggest doing so on desktop or downloading their Android or iOS app.

All the usual poker games can be played at Bet365 – Pot-Limit and No-Limit Hold ‘em and Omaha being the main contenders. Also available are stud games as well as some other interesting variants, such as 6-plus poker (all cards below the value of six removed) and Twister tournaments (three-player fast-play Sit N Go games) that feature Age of Gods-themed tables.

However, don’t expect much action on stud, Omaha, or 6+ during off-peak times. Despite all the variety on offer, most regular players still opt for No-Limit or Limit Hold ‘em.

Bet365 also offers a wide array of tournaments, with over 50 on weekdays and even more on weekends. Buy-ins start at less than €1 and go up to €20-€50 during the week and as high as thousands on weekend nights. Some weekend tournaments only allow entrants who qualified via special weekday evening tournaments, so watch out for these if you want to play with real competition.

VIP program

Bet365 Poker’s VIP program operates on two mechanics – status points and bet365 coins. On the basic level, you earn ten points for every €1 spent on rake or tournament fees. These status points allow you to advance to higher levels as follows:

  • Bronze: Starting level
  • Silver: 30 points in one month
  • Gold: 200 points / month
  • Platinum: 800 points / month
  • Diamond: 15,000 points in a calendar quarter

Each level is split into a dozen or so “loyalty steps.” Hitting each step rewards you with Bet365 coins, which can be exchanged in the loyalty store for rewards such as physical prizes or tournament entry vouchers. Only platinum or above players can exchange Bet365 coins for cash.

Bet365 software

The Bet365 software works well when browsing from either mobile or desktop. The sportsbook is efficient to navigate without being flashy, and the entire site can be accessed in browser. Bet365 also offers a dedicated app for all three sections to both iOS and Android users.

On the downside, the Poker mobile browser experience leaves a lot to be desired. The menus are fiddly to navigate, and the games regularly crashed or froze during our review. Conversely, the mobile poker app worked fine.

Bet365 deposits and withdrawals

There are 12 deposit methods available at Bet365 across the whole site, including the sportsbook and poker room. These methods include:

  • Apple Pay
  • PayPal
  • PaySafeCard
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • EntroPay
  • Bank Transfer
  • Cheque

The minimum deposit for all methods is €10. Deposits are all instant, except for bank transfers and cheques, which may take up to 1-10 or 5-28 days, respectively.

If you want to take advantage of some of Bet365’s many promotions when depositing, you should read the terms and conditions of your chosen option before selecting a banking method. This ensures that the promotion is available to users depositing with your preferred method.

The availability of Apple Pay is a top draw for iPhone users as you won’t find this option at many other online casinos.

Only eight of Bet365’s banking options are available for withdrawals. We have listed them below along with their minimum and maximum limits.

  • VISA (Minimum: 5) (Maximum: 20,000)
  • MasterCard (Minimum: 5) (Maximum: 20,000)
  • Skrill (Minimum: 5) (Maximum: 25,000)
  • Neteller (Minimum: 10) (Maximum: 37,500)
  • PayPal (Minimum: 10) (Maximum: 55,000)
  • EntroPay (Minimum: 10) (Maximum: 99,999)
  • PaySafeCard (Minimum: 5) (Maximum: 2000)
  • Bank Wire (Minimum: 25) (Maximum: 100,000)

Bet365 states that VISA and MasterCard withdrawals should be processed within 3-5 days, which is relatively slow for a major online casino site. E-wallets should take the expected 24 hours, except for Neteller, which the company promises to process within 12 hours. Bank transfers can take up to five days, and cheques come in last at an extremely slow 28 days.
