Del Lago Casino Begins Taking Summer Reservations

The recently opened del Lago Resort & Casino has begun taking reservations for its hotel, starting with July 14. The $440 million casino and resort in Tyre, New York opened on February 1st and quickly became a popular tourist destination. The 414,000-square-foot hotel and casino is located on Route 414 and has brought in roughly a quarter of the total visitors who stayed in Seneca County hotels in the first three months of 2017. The 23 percent of visitors who came for the casino can only increase now that the resort has announced that its 205-room hotel is set to open mid-summer.

Building on the Strong Foundation

The casino is managed by JNB Gaming of Iowa, and includes a gaming floor with shops and restaurants. Since opening at the beginning of February, construction crews have worked tirelessly on the hotel and in-house spa, which also includes a banquet facility. The casino offers 2,000 slot machines as well as 89 different table games and 12 poker tables. Since its opening the casino has made slight adjustments to the number of specific games it offers, but this hasn’t had a negative impact on gaming revenues. In the opening months, del Lago Resort & Casino has reported excellent numbers, and hopes that the opening of the hotel will continue their streak of good fortune.

“With the completion of our hotel and spa we look forward to rounding out our property, making del Lago Resort & Casino a true destination in the Finger Lakes region,” del Lago executive vice president and general manager Jeff Babinski said in a statement.

A week ago, del Lago Resort & Casino recorded its second-best week since opening, with a pre-tax revenue of $3,415,157 for the week of April 17-23. The highest gross gaming revenue total came February 20-26, with $3.7 million. Figures reported to the New York State Gaming Commission suggest that the casino has been bringing in about $3 million in gaming revenues per week. This puts del Lago at an estimated annual revenue of $282 million for the year 2019, which by then will include revenue from amenities such as the hotel and spa.

Adding the Final Touches

To compliment the ‘luxury’ hotel rooms, del Lago will offer a Euorpean-style spa, which will offer massages, body treatments and a full-service salon. The spa will also include three relaxation areas. Another area of the hotel set to open in the summer will feature a 4,200 square-foot banquet facility, Lavazza Italian coffee shop, pastry and gelato shop and The Sociale Café & Bar, which will serve “gastro spa” cuisine and beverages.

Del Lago Casino & Resort has already seen a ton of success with the opening of casino so it is only logical that the introduction of new luxury amenities will enhance visitors’ experiences. Del Lago is quickly becoming a popular destination casino, drawing tourists from all over the country and world. Del Lago is one of four non-Indian nation operated casinos that were approved to operate in the state of New York in 2015. The Tioga Downs operates in Tioga County, while The Rivers Casino & Resort opened around the same time as the del Lago in Schenectady. The final non-Indian nation casino is set to open near Monticello in 2018.
