Situated in Switzerland’s beautiful Alpine region, Grand Casino Luzern is located on Europe’s largest lakefront promenade. This casino offers one of the best gambling experiences in the area with a stylish ambience. Overlooking Lake Lucerne, Grand Casino is the perfect spot for both gaming and entertainment.
If you are looking for something to do during the day before spending the evenings at the casino, you may want to see the 12th-century Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) and explore the colorful Old Town of Altstadt. There are day visits to the mountain on Lake Lucerne, and the town has many boutiques for shoppers to enjoy.
The closest airport is Zurich. Here you may rent a car or take the train to Lucerne. The train takes about an hour and leaves every 47 minutes. From Luzern station, there is a bus (number 6 or 8) to the Casino.
The age limit to enter Grand Casino Luzern and gamble is 18. Valid identification – such as passport, driver’s license, or European ID – must be shown at the door. The dress code inside of the casino is smart/casual while the dress code for the Restaurant is smart/elegant.

Grand Casino Luzern

Grand Casino Luzern opens its doors at 9 AM daily and closes at 4 AM during the week and 5 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Players will only be able to enjoy the slots in the morning, as the table games open in the afternoon, at 4 PM during the week and 2 PM on weekends.
This is the only casino in Luzern and it is quite small in size by international standards. Its gaming floor measures just 10,947 square feet. Despite its size, there is a good selection of table games, slot machines and poker on offer. As for décor, this casino has gone down the traditional look so you can expect plenty of red as you navigate your way around the casino floor.
The atmosphere inside Grand Casino Luzern will be one that is fairly serious as most of the players will be Swiss locals rather than tourists who are there more for the fun aspect.

Table Games at Grand Casino Luzern

There are 17 tables at the Grand Casino Luzern and in a separate room, you will also see 4 poker tables that can seat up to 10 people each. Blackjack and American Roulette are probably the most popular table games here as they are pretty much anywhere worldwide. On top of that, there are also tables for baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and 3-Card Poker as well. Minimum bets for each game will differ with each table clearly showing the limits associated with it.
Grand Casino Luzern hosts between four and eight poker tournaments each month while players that prefer to play cash games will not be disappointed either. Live poker cash games are run every night from about 8 PM onwards with the blinds being as little as 2/2 or as high as 5/5. Minimum buy-ins will be between 100 and 250 Euro depending on the blinds.

Slots and Video Poker at Grand Casino Luzern

For those among you that prefer gambling on electronic machines, you are not going to be disappointed to hear that there are 250 slots and other games for you to choose from. Among that vast amount of machines, you will primarily find slots, but there are a few video poker and electronic roulette tables offered for good measure.
Many of these video slots will be connected to progressive jackpots with five different jackpots that can be won at any time. They are the Swiss Jackpot, Mega Kong, Power Strike, Hot & Wild and Super Cherry Mystery with Swiss Jackpot usually being the biggest of them. Jackpots of over €1,000,000 have been won on numerous occasions via these progressive jackpots.
Minimum bets of €0.01 can be found on a good number of the slot machines but various machines will let you bet a lot more than that each spin.
