The Gran Casino de Lanzarote is owned and operated by the Orene Group holding company, located on the extravagant Canary Island of Lanzarote. This casino is not the largest in Spain, but it does offer both tourists and locals an exciting environment for gambling. With less than 40 slot machines, Gran Casino is primarily focused on table games, but they are also known to host large poker tournaments.
The Gran Casino property is just off Avenida de las Playas in the Puerto del Carmen area. For those who are driving, there is a large parking lot available for casino guests. Situated along the Canary Island’s beautiful coast, this is an area that attracts a lot of tourists. Additionally, Gran Casino is only 20 minutes away from one of the larger cities on the island, Arrecife. If you are looking for mix of gambling and tourism, then you are spoiled for choice – the islands are home to many national parks that showcase its natural beauty.
Getting to Gran Casino de Lanzarote is easy too. You’ll be happy to know the airport is just a 15 minute drive to the casino. However, you will only be able to depart and arrive from Spanish or European cities, as it is not necessarily an international airport, and more of a domestic/continental airport.
As is the case in most European countries, rules require you to be 18 or older to enter the casino, and you will be required to present an ID. The dress code is not strict at all, so the casino pretty much welcomes all types of clientele, even if they’re just in jeans and a t-shirt.

Gran Casino de Lanzarote

There are normally quite a lot of people in the casino at nights and it can become quite a festive environment. The Gran Casino de Lanzarote is headed by the Orene Group, which owns many other businesses in the entertainment and accommodation industries. This is one of their more moderate-sized casinos on Lanzarote. It is still adequate and features enough games to entertain most gamblers, including a variety of table games, poker, and slot machines.
The casino itself is quite flashy from the outside. As you enter, you are met with an entrance hall which houses most of the slot machines. ID and an entrance fee will be required upon entry to this area. The general entrance fee is €3 with the optional week, month, and year passes available.
Their operational hours vary with the slot machine room, opening at 10AM and closing at 4AM; meanwhile, the games room opens at 7PM.

Table games at Gran Casino de Lanzarote

The game room is the biggest section of the casino and offers a variety of games for gamblers, starting with the roulette table. As you enter the game room you will be met with the roulette table on your right. There is only double-zero American Roulette available; although French Roulette is also offered on occasion.
There are poker cash tables and blackjack tables available on the main casino floor. These games gain energy towards the later hours of the night once the poker tournaments have slowed down.
A group of poker tournament tables can be found at the back of the room and this is where most of the action happens during the night. Focusing mainly on Texas Hold’em, there are various tournaments held throughout the week starting at €25 buy-ins on weekdays and working its way up to a €50 buy-in tournaments on Saturdays. Re-buys are available and there are also add-on games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Slots and Video Poker at Gran Casino de Lanzarote

All the slots and video poker games at Gran Casino are in the front area of the casino as you enter. No ID or entrance fee is required in this area, so you can come and try things out before going into the table game room. There are often slots events taking place at the casino, played on the 40 slot machines available.
The popularity of poker continues at the Gran Casino with video poker, and they even feature a few electronic blackjack and roulette machines. These games can be a nice change of pace from the slot machines or games room. There aren’t that many available but depending on how busy the casino is you shouldn’t have a problem finding an open machine.

Hotel and Accommodation at Gran Casino de Lanzarote

There is, unfortunately, no accommodation on offer by the Gran Casino de Lanzarote. Being located in the Canary Islands, however, you will have no problem finding a suitable place to stay within a reasonable distance.
There are many options available and far too many to go into detail. The prices vary pretty dramatically based on what you are looking for. You can find backpackers, apartments, small houses, and of course plenty of extravagant hotels. Some of the more high-end establishments charge around €125 per night, but you can find accommodation for much cheaper; especially if you are staying for slightly longer than a holiday trip.

Restaurants at Gran Casino de Lanzarote

Another thing that the Canary Islands have in abundance are restaurants. The Gran Casino does, however, have their own restaurant, Fortuna, which is located inside the table games room and opens at the same time (7PM), but closes slightly earlier than the table games (2AM).
The restaurant is not very big, and you might have had something else in mind. If that is the case, there are hundreds of restaurants within 30 minutes’ drive in any direction. There are some beautiful seafood and local restaurants but there are also a variety of different cultures due to the large tourist presence on the island.
Along with their restaurant, Gran Casino has a bar that can also be accessed from inside the games room. Their prices are slightly steep and might not be what you are used to but convenience sometimes costs a little extra. The service is decent, and most people enjoy the atmosphere of the casino.
