With a very tight timeline for the opening of their new casino in Central City, Colorado, Johnny Z’s Casino was in dire need of a networking partner that could get their systems up and running smoothly and as quickly as possible.
Johnny Z’s system software partner, Aristocrat, introduced them to Marco while working together on another project in Colorado.
“We were behind the eight ball with another company that dropped the ball and was not fulfilling our needs with the product or timeline”, said Craig Ramirez, General Manager of Johnny Z’s Casino. “Marco picked up the ball and ran with it and got us up and running. They came out on very short notice and within a day, provided us with recommendations and a proposal for a network upgrade. Within a week, Johnny Z’s had product at their door and Marco was on-site working with Aristocrat’s team to install their Oasis database server, HP ProCurve networking equipment, storage area network (SAN), and a firewall/anti-virus solution.
Ryan Dyrud, network engineer for Marco, worked closely with Johnny Z’s controller and IT people to build their network from ground up so the implementation of Aristocrat’s casino management software would be successful and meet their tight timeline.
“Ryan came in and did an outstanding job for us – from putting the product together, telling us what we needed to do, to working with Aristocrat,” said Ramirez. “Within two days, Ryan had us up and running even before we expected. He went above and beyond and was here long hours to assure we met our timeline.
Marco was also able to integrate some of the products Johnny Z’s already had in place.
According to Ramirez, “Marco’s products have exceeded our expectations. They put a higher grade product in and we’re finding their product is much better than what we previously had.”
When it comes to follow-up and responsiveness, Ramirez likes the customer service he gets from Marco. “Their responsiveness is outstanding,” said Ramirez, “Every time we have an issue, Marco is always right there for us and able to dial into our network and fix the problem over the phone.” Marco helps Johnny Z’s with issues as they relate to wiring, ports, software, hardware, firewalls, and other network-related items.
In closing Ramirez commented, “We owe a lot to Marco for us opening on time and I would highly recommend Marco to any casino manager or anyone who is in need of a technology provider.”
